It is my pleasure to welcome each of you as a student in the Media Technology Institute (MTI), the successor institution to the CPTC Training Department. Our facilitators, administrative and management staff are all committed to supporting you in your academic and professional development endeavours.
You will find a variety of courses, training opportunities and academic programmes oriented to satisfy your diverse educational needs in the areas of Video Production, Voice and Speech Communication, Digital Media Production and Audio Engineering. We offer a range of certifications, professional development workshops and seminars as well as cultural and personal enrichment activities.
The MTI boasts state-of-the-art computer laboratories, post production facilities and one of the largest television studios in the English Speaking Caribbean. We have the leading edge in outside broadcast facilities, the region’s best audio-visual archives and library as well as other learning resources. We have negotiated access for our two-year students to the large book-based libraries at the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the University of Technology (UTech) as part of ongoing collaborative agreements.
We are pleased that innovations in our programme offerings at MTI will now provide you with the opportunity to expand your academic and professional education and to enrich the quality of your lives and communities, as you prepare for successful careers in media and communication.
This site will give you an overview of what is involved in studying on the programme of your choice. I recommend that you browse it when you register, and before you begin your studies. You will then need to consult it from time to time to find answers to specific questions and problems, as well as general information.
I hope you will find the experience of studying for your programme rewarding, enjoyable and stimulating, and that the award you obtain–whether it be a certificate or degree help you in your future life.
